In Mubi, Adamawa State, Help the Amputee Foundation is on a mission to restore hope and empower the local community, particularly those affected by amputation. In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), we recently organized an outreach event that provided essential support through food distribution and medical assistance.
The Need for Support
Mubi has faced significant challenges, including conflicts and health crises, leading to a rise in amputations. Many individuals, especially those with disabilities, struggle to access necessities and medical care. This outreach aims to address these needs, fostering resilience and hope in the community.
Event Highlight
- Food Distribution: We provided food items to families. Ensuring food security is vital for health and well-being, and our effort aimed to alleviate hunger and malnutrition.
- Medical Support: Our team of healthcare professionals offers medical checkups, prosthetic consultations, and rehabilitation advice. We emphasized the importance of physical and mental health for those living with a disability.
- Community Engagement: The event included workshops that focused on raising awareness about disability rights and the importance of inclusion. Empowering the community with knowledge is crucial for building a supportive environment for individuals with disabilities.
Looking Ahead
Our outreach in Mubi is just the beginning. We aim to establish ongoing support programs that will continue to empower individuals and families affected by amputation. By working together, we can build a more resilient community that prioritizes health, inclusion, and dignity for all.
